Shannon began studying the trumpet at age 9 and has also gone on to
study vocals and percussion. During his high school years Shannon was
a regular performer with the Queensland Youth Orchestras and at 16 was
accepted into the Queensland Conservatorium of Music. There he studied
intensely for four years working closely with Yoram Levy (Tasmanian Symphony)
and John Hoffman (Woody Herman / Buddy Rich). While at the conservatorium
Shannon held the lead trumpetchair of the Con Big Band, Orchestra and
Brass Ensemble as well as freelancing professionally until graduating
with a Bachelor of Music degree in instrumental performance in 1995.
Shannon has been working as a professional musician ever since and also as a
professional brass tutor and ensemble leader. During this time I have amassed
a wealth of experience and established myself as a well respected and sought
after musician, performing throughout Australia and Asia.
As a professional musician for over 15 years, Shannon have performed with and
in countless ensembles and productions of all styles.
